Spiti road trip is one of the most sought-after road trips with almost all having it in their bucket list of travel and when lovely Kinnaur & Lahaul becomes a part of it, it becomes unmatched. Reason is obvious, it offers beautiful landscapes which keep changing, displaying earthy colours with different patterns, high altitude lakes with unmatched scenic beauty, roads winding and unleashing mesmerising views which never stops to amaze you. These road trips have no destinations or things to see, they are more about the Journey, landscapes and Nature.

Monasteries buzzing with monks, chanting music to ears, smiling faces, open arms and warm hearts, all welcoming you, “Are we ready?”.

Itinerary

Day 0: Reach Chandigarh and stay Over night(13th June -Friday) OPTIONAL

People who can’t reach Chandigarh on 14th June before 11am have this option to reach by 13th June by night and stay Overnight in Chandigarh
We can book a hotel at extra cost on room only basis, approx INR 2000-2500 on double sharing and INR 4000-4500 on single) This will be on actual depending on sharing and cost can be more or less, or even you can book on your own.

Day 1: Arrive at Chandigarh, drive to Bithal(Near Narkanda) (215kms / 8-9 hrs)

Arrive Chandigarh by 11-11.30am and drive off to Bitthal
we will stop enroute for quick lunch
Its a long drive and we will reach Bithal by Dinner time
Transfer to the hotel & Check into the hotel

Day 2: Bitthal to Sangla (130kms / 6-7 hrs)

Wake up to a delightful breakfast at the hotel
Post breakfast we will start our journey to the beautiful Sangla Valley
Will stop over for lunch enroute at a local dhaba which offer a lovely thali
Perched on the slopes near the banks of the Baspa River and situated at a height of 8,900 feet in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, Sangla Valley is a captivating destination with serene landscapes and an adventurous spirit. Apple orchards grow down the slopes of the Sangla Valley, with their terraced arrangement creating a harmonious visual symphony. Kinnauri farmers tend to these orchards with care, following age-old practices.
Evening we can go for a walk around Sangla town or explore the temple on own

Day 3: Sangla – Chitkul - Kalpa (90kms / 6hrs)

Leave for the beautiful village of Chitkul after breakfast
Though a small village 25kms from Sangla, everything about Chitkul is glorious. Spectacular views of the Himalayas and the Kinnaur-Kailash, tall pine trees kissing the vast blue skies, dramatic clouds floating around the green valleys, gushing Baspa river, and the non-identical wooden houses make the village a picturesque beauty.
Spend some time to explore and then proceed for Kalpa
A quaint village nestled in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. Surrounded by the majestic Kinner Kailash mountain range, Kalpa offers a serene getaway with the best view of Kinner Kailash.
Will stop over for lunch at a local eatery enroute
Visit the Temple at Kalpa
Overnight at the Hotel at Kalpa

Day 4: Kalpa – Tabo - Dhankar - Kaza ( 9-10 hrs)

It’s a long drive today and we will start early after breakfast
We will stop for a quick photo break at Khaab, sangam point of Satluj and Spiti river We will drive through the Hangarang valley(Nako) and enter into the Spiti Valley(Tabo)
We will visit the 1000+yrs old monastery at Tabo, a UNESCO world heritage site
After that we will proceed to Dhankar Monastery
Lunch at a local eatery. Reach Kaza by late evening
Evening free to explore on own

Day 5: Kaza–Chicham bridge- Ki Monastery – Langza - Hikkim – Komic - Kaza (80kms /6-7hrs)

After breakfast we will visit the picturesque monastery of Ki/kee followed by Lagza, a beautiful village with a huge Buddha statue and is very known for fossils(which we discourage to buy else villagers keep mining it and disturbs the ecosystem) the highest post office of Hikkim. Finally we will proceed to Komic Village, the highest motorable village which boasts of the highest restaurant.
We will also be going through the Chicham Bridge which is one of the highest bridge.
Enroute have lunch at a local eatery. Overnight at the Hotel at Kaza

Day 6: Kaza – Kunzum Pass - Chandrataal - (150kms / 10hrs)

Finally we would be proceeding to witness a high altitude lake, which is moon shaped and extremely picturesque, “chandrataal” the ‘moonlake’ Lunch enroute or get it packed from Losar.
Proceeding to the famous Kunzum Pass and we will stop to pay our homage.
Visit Chandratal lake and move to the camp for overnight

Day 7: Chandratal – Manali(150 kms / 7-8hrs)

We will do an early start today, A long bumpy drive through the mountains, valleys, boulders and the river bed
A true adventure road ride it will be today where some parts will have no roads et all Lunch Enroute
We will be driving through the Atal Tunnel which has become a landmark in Manali
We will stop for tour of the tunnel(if time permits)
Reach Manali by evening
Check-in and overnight at Hotel at Manali

Day 8: Manali – Chandigarh(300 kms / 9-10 hrs) – Back Home

Finally we will be bidding goodbye to the mountains and our lovely trip and new found friends
We will start early so we try and reach Chandigarh by 6pm and then further move to our homes with unforgettable memories

7N stay in good Hotels/Homestays/Camp on double sharing basis.

(1N stay each at Bitthal, Sangla/Rakcham, Kalpa, Chandratal and Manali & 2N in Kaza) IMPORTANT NOTE: These are small offbeat places with limited no fancy stays, incase of unavailability there will be slight changes to the itinerary and overnight stays.

Shared transport, tempo traveler will be used for 6+ Travelers and Innova or similar under 6 Travellers..
Pick up point and drop point in Panchkula(most likely Nik Baker’s Sec-5) will be reconfirmed and shared on the whatsapp group.
Meals included will be 8 dinners and 8 breakfasts.
Local sightseeing.
Travel buddy who will accompany and manage the entire trip at ground level, local experienced drivers and staff.
First Aid kit and Oximeter.
All required permits.

Any expenses arising out of unforeseen circumstances or under force majeure like natural calamities or any emergency evacuation expenses OR change in itinerary due to unavoidable circumstances.

Payment

Booking Amount Rs 15000/- for holding reservation
100% payment required 45 days before the trip start date.. Incase of non-payment the booking will be released without any refund as mentioned in the Cancellation Policy.
Please mark the last payment date as no payment reminders will be given.

Cancellations

30 days before arrival date: 30% Cancellation charges
Between 15-30 days: 50% Cancellation charges, of Package Cost
Within 15 days 100% Cancellation charges, of Package Cost

Note: There will be no refunds due to Covid or any other circumstances.PAYMENT POLICY:

Other Terms

Any additional costs due to weather / unforeseen situation’s, will have to be borne by the traveller.
Any pictures Videos clicked during the trip can/will be used for social media posts/promotions. If you want to maintain privacy in this regard then it’s your sole duty to inform us before the trip starts. Post trip requests to not use any pics/videos will not be entertained.
Participating in the trip will be taken as acceptance to all policies/guidelines shared in this document.
We have a Zero tolerance policy towards any misbehaviour by any traveller towards drivers, hotel staff, trip hosts or towards any other clients/Travellers. Any bad behaviour will not be tolerated and that participant/traveller will be asked to leave right away and no refund will be made if any service is unused by that day/time.
This is a group travel and the itinerary will be followed as shared, no individual different itineraries/suggestions will be taken unless the trip leader is okay with them in every aspect along with all traveller/drivers/hotels. No arguments or pressure will be taken in this regard.
The Itinerary can be modified a little if there is unavailability of given stays, similar stay will be provided.
The guides/drivers and other local staff involved are for the entire group and no personal demands will be catered.
Please be sensitive towards your hosts privacy too and do not expect them to be around 24X7(unless an emergency)
Our team reserves the right to change the plan in case there is danger involved for the group or whenever the travel host deem it necessary.
Final word of the travel host will have to be followed by all the members.
No show and travel itinerary changes/cancellation due to bad weather or natural calamity will be non-refundable.
